‘Hurun India Rich List-2024‘ says that Gautam Adani has once again emerged as the richest person in the country. This is because Adani’s net worth increased by 95% during the year to Rs. 11.6 lakh crore. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani’s net worth rose 25% to Rs. 10.14 lakh crore, relegating him to second place.
* The Shiv Nadar family of HCL has reached the third position with Rs.3.14 lakh crore. Cyrus Poonawala, head of Serum Institute of India, is in the fourth position with Rs. 2.89 lakh crore and Dilip Sanghvi is in the fifth position with Rs. 2.50 lakh crore.
* Radha Vembu of Zoho is the top among self-made women with Rs.47,500 crores.
* Zepto co-founders Kaivalya Vohra (21) and Aadit Palicha (22) became the youngest in the list with Rs.3600 crores and Rs.4300 crores respectively.
* In the youngest list, Harsha Reddy Ponguleti (30) of Raghava Constructions got a place with Rs.1900 crores.
* The fastest (566%) wealth gainer was Gera Developments’ Kumar Pritamdas Gera.
First to enter the list are: Shahrukh Khan (Rs. 7300 crores), Juhi Chawla (Rs. 4600 crores), Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Amitabh Bachchan entered this list for the first time. 16 professionals have also appeared in the report for the first time. Among them are Arista Networks CEO Jayshree Ullal (Rs. 32000 crores) and D’Mart Chief Executive Ignatius Navil Noronha (Rs. 6900 crores).
In this list of Indians with a net worth of Rs.1,000 crore, the total number of wealthy people has increased to 1539 with the addition of 220 new people compared to last year.

Hurun’s list revealed that a new billionaire (100 crores of dollars, approximately Rs.8,300 crores) was born every 5 days during the last year. With the arrival of 75 new billionaires, their total number has reached 334.

Hurun has taken into account the value as on 31st July 2024 to calculate the wealth. At that time, the dollar exchange rate was Rs.83.32. It said, “calculating wealth was not an easy task. Mistakes may have occurred.” Self earned and inherited wealth were taken into consideration. Stock market listed companies were calculated using existing information available to public. Regarding unlisted companies, net investment in the respective organization was considered in addition to comparing with a listed company into the same field.
