Currency symbol for rupee – Download the font and PSD

On July 15, 2010, the Indian Union Cabinet has approved the currency symbol for rupee. India got unique identify for its currency. This symbol has been designed by the IIT postgraduate D Udaya Kumar.

Kumar said that “It is a perfect blend of Indian and Roman letters: a capital ‘R’, and Devnagari ‘Ra’, which represent rupiya, to appeal to international and Indian audiences.”

Soon after this symbol selected, Foradian, a web designing company, has come up with the font. You can download the font and PSD file from their blog and install it in your system fonts to start using it in your documents.
